Antisocial — NFC App Locker

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 September 2026  ·  Version 1.0

Antisocial is designed to help you use your phone less. To do that, it doesn't need to know much about you — and it doesn't try to. This policy explains exactly what the app does and doesn't collect.

Short version: Antisocial stores everything on your device. No account, no server, no analytics. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

Data Controller

Antisocial is made by Helgo Labs. For any questions about privacy, contact us at privacy@helgolabs.com.

We are subject to UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Personal Data We Hold

None. Antisocial does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers — because we have no servers. Everything the app creates lives only on your device.

The following data is stored locally on your phone and never leaves it:

DataWhat it isWhere it goes
NFC tag IDsThe unique identifier read from each NFC tag you registerDevice only — used to recognise your tags
Tag namesThe friendly name you give each tag (e.g. "hallway shelf")Device only
Protected app listWhich apps you've chosen to lockDevice only
App settingsUnlock length, strict mode, lock on charge, session end behaviourDevice only
Usage statsHow long protected apps were unlocked on each dayDevice only

If you uninstall the app, all of this data is deleted automatically by Android.

Why We Need NFC Access

Antisocial requests one Android permission:

PermissionWhy it's needed
NFCTo read the unique ID of NFC tags so the app can recognise them and trigger an unlock. Tag IDs are stored locally and never transmitted.

We do not request location, camera, contacts, microphone, storage, or any other sensitive permission.

Who Else Sees Your Data

No one. Antisocial makes no network requests and integrates no third-party SDKs for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or any other purpose.

The app is distributed via Google Play. Google's own privacy policy governs the Play Store's data collection (e.g. install metrics), which is separate from how Antisocial itself operates.

Why We're Allowed to Process Your Data

Because all data is stored locally on your device and no personal data is transmitted to us, Helgo Labs is not a data processor in the conventional sense. Your device's own operating system governs local storage. Where UK GDPR applies to our activities, we rely on contract — processing is necessary to provide the app you installed.

Rights Under UK GDPR

Because we hold no personal data about you on our systems, most GDPR rights (access, portability, erasure) are fulfilled entirely on your device — you can view all data in the app and delete it by clearing app data or uninstalling. That said, you still have these rights:

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

Age Restriction

Antisocial is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. As the app collects no personal data whatsoever, no special risk arises — but if you have concerns, contact us.

Policy Updates

If we make material changes to this policy — for instance if a future version of the app introduces a server-side feature — we will notify users via the app before those changes take effect, and update the effective date at the top of this page.
